DreamEcho Build Checklist
A pre-dream pass so modular kits stay intentional.
Use this DreamEcho build checklist before any session you care about. HotWaterStudio’s free Concept combinations are powerful and messy; a five-minute pass at Home prevents hour-long confusion in the dream. The game is single-player Steam Windows (August 10, 2026 launch)—this list will not assign multiplayer jobs.
Pair with System requirements if the client itself is the bottleneck. Systems help: Concepts guide, Memories meta guide.
1) Thesis check
- I can state my archetype in one phrase (summon / melee / ranged / hybrid / starter).
- I know tonight’s dream brief (learn / Memory / push / showcase).
- I am not copying a Wish List I do not understand.
If any box fails, open Starter builds or the matching specialist page before sleeping.
2) Concept roles
- Verb socket identified
- Delivery/engine socket identified (or intentionally absent)
- Payoff socket identified (or intentionally absent)
- Safety socket identified
- I can attribute each socket’s job after a fight
Unattributed sockets get removed—not “maybe later.”
3) Memory & Home
- Wake plan named before the run
- Home refinement matches the thesis (not last week’s abandoned idea)
- Offline accrual will feed the same thesis if I log out after
- Friend exchange requests (if any) target a specific gap
Details: Memories meta guide.
4) Inputs & comfort
- Device chosen (controller or KBM) for the whole session
- Panic bind works without looking
- Particle density acceptable on my machine
- I know where options live if aim feels wrong
See DreamEcho controls and System requirements.
5) Dream management
- Extraction/wake conditions predefined
- Loot rule set (socket selectively)
- Sibling archetype envy ignored for tonight
- Patch notes checked if I have been offline for days (Updates Hub / Launch notes)
Pacing help: Dream runs guide.
6) Social publishing (optional)
- Wish List description includes roles + Memory needs
- List actually run once
- Feedback request is specific
- Links to relevant build pages included
Guide: Dream Wish List guide.
Quick archetype pointers
Summon: uptime visible? → Summon build.
Melee: defense encoded? → Melee build.
Ranged: primary delivery named? → Ranged build.
Ranks: Concepts tier list, Archetypes tier list.
Sibling tool
Return to System requirements whenever hitching masquerades as bad kiting. Hub: Tools Hub.
After the checklist
If everything passes, stop optimizing and start the dream. The checklist’s final hidden item is permission to play. DreamEcho’s fiction is about reclaiming wonder after overwork—do not turn Home into another office.
Closing unique to the checklist
Print this page mentally as a gate, not a prison. When you skip it and regret the wake, come back, tick the boxes, and forgive yourself. The Memories will still be there to refine.
Checklist failure drills
Fail thesis → rewrite one sentence, do not add sockets.
Fail roles → remove the socket you cannot name.
Fail Memories → skip the dream and tidy Home.
Fail inputs → remap, then retest on gentle packs.
Fail publishing boxes → keep the list private.
Adopt a personal rule: green checklist or intentionally tiny learning run only. Everything else is procrastination wearing a theory-crafting hat while the dream Home gathers dust.
Two-minute express lane
On busy nights, run only thesis, roles, and wake-plan boxes. That express lane still beats socketing half-awake. Reserve the full checklist for showcase Wish List nights and post-patch rebuilds when HotWaterStudio shakes Concepts loose.
Post-run checkbox
After waking, tick one bonus box: did the dream match the thesis sentence? A no answer schedules tomorrow’s Home work automatically without needing a brand-new theory document or another frantic resocket spiral.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common DreamEcho questions.
How often should I run the checklist?
Before serious sessions, after major patch notes, and whenever your Home layout feels messy.
Is the checklist a damage calculator?
No. It verifies roles, Memories, inputs, and intent—not numeric DPS.
Can I use it with any archetype?
Yes. The role boxes are archetype-agnostic; specialist pages cover flavor.
What if I fail half the boxes?
Simplify to a starter thesis and try a learning run instead of a showcase.
